Just to give you some background;
Age 52, mild asthma as a child, started experiencing breathlessness @ 26 prescribed Becotide and Ventolin, continued light social smoking 2 packs a week to 31. Put on Symbicort and then experienced constant level of breathlessness since 32yo. Gave up smoking with approx an 8 year history. No Alpha one but Grandmother died from Emphysema and Sis and Mom both have COPD despite little smoking in my moms case.
Current situation: took Symbicort from ‘02 to ‘15 and then was advised to go it alone by a Pulmo. Did ok but struggled with the air hunger, tiredness and a sense all wasn’t well. Have a mild morning cough which is made worse by LABA’s. I can’t tolerate Spiriva (depression), Alvesco or Pulmicort (make my lungs feel stiff, pumped up).
As of about two weeks agoI’m now on separate inhalers Beclometasone / formoterol because I could tolerate them both in the past. I expect I will be prescribed this formula (Fostair) in a fine particle preparation at my next PCP visit as my PCP suspects small airway involvement.
Anyway after being smoked out for a week by neighbours fire pit and some excercise induced asthma I’m in a bad place and trying to get back to see my pulmo, I expect COVID delays. To get the ball rolling on this journey I wanted to post my results from ‘04 when all this started. I didn’t feel well then and don’t feel much better now.
Anyone care to comment on any anomaly they might see ? I have had a clean bill of health back then from my Pulmo but alas all wasn’t well.
