Half Of Nation’s Hospitals Fail Again To Escape Medicare’s Readmission Penalties

This article, appropriate for all PRAXIS users, shows that in Year 4 of the Hospital Readmissions Reduction Program (HRRP), 2,592 US hospitals will incur penalties (506 hospitals will be penalized 1% or more of their total Medicare revenue). While readmissions rates are declining, the data show that one of five Medicare patients is readmitted to the hospital within 30 days.
